Day Ten: Starting Over

You know I have learned in life that setbacks are going to happen.  I have been battling a cold for almost a week now and running has been the last thing on my mind.  I have struggled to get through the days and all the cold medicines most days.

Today is a new day, and I am thankful for it.  I am feeling better than I have since before I got sick.  Feeling my energy come back and ready to get back on the road in the morning.  Sometimes setbacks just serve to show us just how much we want to achieve our goals.  It would be easy to walk away, not because of the cold, but we all know how hard it is to get our routines changed to include the good things that we need to do each day.  We also know how easy it is to lose those good habits and get lazy.  I am excited to be able to get back to those good habits I had set, and get back to training.

Also, I have been asked to do several different events in the upcoming months from different people.  Friends on Facebook and from church have asked me to different events.  I am planning to do the Cooper River Bridge Run on April 2, the Norcross Corners to Crossings 10k on April 17, and the My First and Next Triathlon at Lake Lanier on June 4.  I have also been asked to participate in the Statesville Rotary Club Sprint Tri in Statesville by Dr. Walter Gessler, who is also training for it.  I would really like to be ready for it, and maybe get some of my NC friends to do it also.  If any of my NC friends read this and want to participate, I would love to.

I am excited, not about seemingly starting over, but about reaching the goal, and then setting new goals!
